P is for Pondering

It’s only with a fully tummy, after a hot bath, and tucked between these cool sheets that I can ever begin to think, “Could my depression be a gift and not a curse?”

A to Z April Challenge 2013I’m participating in the Blogging from A-to-Z April Challenge! Read about it here.

  1. Hello! My husband suffered from depression. I changed our diet as i am diabetic and wanted to take more insulin – to the ‘Zone’ diet. It removed most carbohydrate and sugar, the diet is mainly protein, vegetables and fruit. No potato, pasta, bread etc except in minute quantities. He used to get depressed every 3 months or so but unbelievably, after doing this diet, for eight years now, he has not had another episode. Apparently this can happen, so that is one thing you could try. Walking outside is another – but the other thing we have just discovered is Transcendental Meditation. Or son was very stressed at Uni and they told him to try this. We thought it was mad, we wanted a more normal type of therapy, but THREE days after starting this meditation (has to be TM) he was his normal self again, and he had been very bad – agoraphobic as well. So we started doing it in January and one of things it really helps with is depression. It is VERY simple, oh so simple, it costs a bit to learn it, but you never have to learn anything else or pay again for any help from them. I really do recommend it. Hope you feel better soon! You’ll still be every bit as creative without the depression, but happier!
Good luck with the rest of the A-Z! I’m doing animal poems and facts and often a drawing as well, I like to make things hard for myself.
